Sisters
The girls have been inseparable this summer, spending nearly all of their waking hours side by side:

While there have been more than a few squabbles, tears, and high-pitched screaming, Emma and Big Sister can most often be found giggling together and enjoying each other's company:

Michaela can be infinitely patient with Emma and takes her role of Big Sister very seriously. Here she is encouraging Emma to come down the 'big slide'

Sadly, summer is coming to an end and the girls' time together is now going to be much more limited.
Big Sister entered the Big Girl World of Senior Kindergarten this week:

and in preparation of my upcoming return to work, Emma is spending her first couple of half-days with our new nanny.

{sigh} my babies are growing up, and I'm not sure I like it all that much...

What perfect photos to demonstrate what a special relationship they truly have. Hopefully they will cherish their more limited time together in the coming months.
And a Nanny, and back to work - ay yi yi!!
WOW They are too cuute together. It's nice that they are close and will probably always be.
A nanny! Awesome that will be soo good fro Emma and for you too. BUT it sucks to be going back to work.
hugs
What beautiful pictures of the girls! They really captured the love they have for one another and I think that this echoes all the love that they feel in your family.
Good luck on the imminent return to work. And, yeah, it sucks, especially given the alternative (and unfortunately unpaid) option of spending time with Emma.
Your girls are so beautiful. And to see them playing so happily together is wonderful. Michaela's love for Emma shines through.
I hope they adjust well to the new Fall schedule as do you heading back to work.
aaawww, that's very sweet. I love the first photo of the two girls together. :)
